9/11 took the lives of thousands of people and each year, communities around the nation recognize those lives lost. Including the small town of Mason.
“Many people in my era remember where they were and what they were doing when that happened. It was a day that changed the face of America,” said Mason Fire Chief Kerry Minshall.
It’s a moment in history Americans will never forget.
“It was just unbelievable to see the two buildings in a pile that was over ten stories high it was just unreal,” said Thomas Sherwood.
Former Mason Firefighter Thomas Sherwood was at Ground Zero doing anything he could to help those in need, alongside other Mason firefighters: Bob Woodland, Larry Martin, and Brian Ball.
“We all need to appreciate one another and care for one another whether it’s a first responder, a family member or a friend. We just need to care,” said Briggs.
