A mother and her three children were hospitalized this (Wednesday) morning after their Polk County home caught fire. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office says firefighters responded to the scene shortly after 4 A.M. to a fire inside the home in the town of Climax. First responders say 33-year-old Brianna Roper and her children – ages eight, 11 and 13 – were brought to a hospital and treated for smoke inhalation. No one else was hurt. Sheriff's officials say the home sustained moderate damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
