Maple Plain Fire Chief Justin McCoy has resigned from his position as coordinator of facilities and safety for the Orono School District after the district initiated an investigation into allegations of misconduct. On March 4, the Orono school board held a special closed session meeting for preliminary consideration of allegations against an individual who is subject to the board’s authority. According to Orono School District director of human resources Dr. Scott Alger, the purpose of the meeting was to update the board on the details and status of the investigation. “The district received allegations of inappropriate conduct against Mr. McCoy and we immediately started an investigation,” Alger said. “Because no final disciplinary action was taken, really the only details that are public about the investigation are the existence and status of complaints.”
