Three goats were killed in a barn fire west of New Ulm early Wednesday morning. New Ulm firefighters were called to 24279 County Road 11 south of Essig at 3:40 a.m., according to a New Ulm Fire Department news release. The barn was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived. Firefighters were at the scene for over four hours. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
