A fire caused by an electrical malfunction of a motion light fixture on an attached garage started Tuesday, April 23, at a residence between Baxter and Pillager. The Pillager Fire Department was paged at 11:18 p.m. to the fire on the 2400 block of Little Red Sand Drive Southwest. Pillager Fire Chief Greg Ringler said the homeowner, Steven Fuchs, came out of the house and saw the fire. The motion light fixture was attached to an overhang on the garage. Fuchs ran back into the house to get everyone outside and for them to call 911. Fuchs then ran and got his garden hose and kept spraying water on the fire to put it out. "He doused it with water pretty good," Ringler said. "He did a good job."
