VIDEO: No one was injured following a house fire in Austin on Wednesday. Authorities responded to a house fire that occurred on 12th Street NW and 3rd Ave NW in Austin. According to Jim McCoy, Fire Chief of the Austin Fire Department, the call came in around 3:15 p.m. for a house on fire with people inside who could not get out because the exit was blocked by fire. When firefighters arrived, there was a small fire at the entrance to the upstairs apartment. Two people were still inside. Chief McCoy said one person escaped by crawling out the window and sat on the roof. The other person was able to get out a service door.
