Around 9 a.m. Thursday the Rochester Fire Department was called to investigate a possible non-emergency hazardous materials incident at the Minnesota State Patrol impound lot in northwest Rochester. According to a release from the fire department, a seized vehicle and a patrol car in the lot that had been contaminated by an unknown and potentially hazardous material. RFD said Engine 4 and the Chemical Assessment Team responded. A firefighter and State Patrol officer wearing protective gear were able to collect a sample without incident. No other details are available at this time.
