Sauk Rapids Fire Department responded to an apartment fire Sunday morning. Residents could not put the fire out, despite using multiple fire extinguishers, according to the building's caretaker.
The fire was at the North Country Apartments at 307 13th St. N in apartment 201. David Olson said he is the caretaker for the apartments and lives in the first-floor apartment below 201.
He said the residents in 201 told him their stove was on fire at about 10:15 a.m.
"When I went up there, the cupboards above it were all on fire," Olson said.
Together they tried to extinguish the fire using multiple fire extinguishers, but with no luck. Olson said he called 911 at about 10:20 a.m.
