A woman was killed Tuesday night after a house fire in Pine County. A news release from the Pine County Sheriff's Office said first responders were called just before 8 p.m. on the report of a house fire near Brook Park. When firefighters arrived, the house was fully engulfed in flames. The sheriff's office told first responders that he and his wife were in separate rooms of the home when he noticed the fire. The man said he was able to get out of the home and made attempts to re-enter. However, the man was unable to find his wife. The release said once the fire was extinguished, firefighters entered the home and found the man's wife deceased.
