Over one hundred classic cars drove by police and fire stations across the Northland Saturday to thank them for their service.
The cars met at Barker's Island. They then drove through Duluth, Carlton, Cloquet, Scanlan and Proctor to wave at, cheer for and thank police and firefighters.
For one participant, this thank you was personal because first responders saved his life. “About eight years ago, I was in an accident myself and everybody came together and if it wasn't for them, I wouldn't be here today and I've got a three-year-old boy now—almost four,” Eric Waller said.
Waller said the support for police and firefighters Saturday was astounding and they hope to plan another event like this next year.
