Firefighters with the 148th Fighter Wing showed us their newest apparatus, a 2018 P-26 water tender.
"It's the largest one in the area," shared Staff Sgt. Richard Visger. "It means everything for our fire department and community. It can hold 4,000 gallons. In rural areas, there aren't a lot of hydrants. This gets called out for a lot of uses."
And even though it has a larger capacity, the technology makes it so they take smaller droplets of water, like a small pressure water.
Staff Sgt. Beau Boyat added, "We use less water so we can stay at the scene longer. And it's a lot lighter, so on less paved areas, it won't sink into the ground as much."
