Medical personnel and firefighters continue to serve their communities amid the COVID-19 pandemic, but they've added more safety measures.
Captain Caleb Feine with the Rochester Fire Department said there hasn't been a change in the number of calls they receive, but the department is taking extra measures to keep their firefighters safe as COVID-19 spreads.
"We're doing it a little bit differently. We're maybe wearing masks, maybe wearing goggles. In some cases we may have on what we would call a tyvek suit, or a fully protective suit, and that's just for everyone's safety," said RFD Captain Caleb Feine.
Captain Feide added that emergency services will ask more questions when called, including if a person has possible COVID-19 symptoms in order to help first responders prepare accordingly.
