A 9-year-old boy was found safe just before 6 p.m. Thursday after authorities spent much of the afternoon searching for him near Munsinger Gardens along the Mississippi River. Lowell McClure was reported missing while fishing with his brother near the St. Cloud hydro dam around 1:45 p.m. Thursday, according to a St. Cloud police news release. Authorities said he was located safe about 6 p.m. St. Cloud police and fire crews began searching for him near Munsinger Gardens along the Mississippi River. By 5 p.m., the search had expanded to include the nearby St. Cloud State University campus and surrounding neighborhoods. A St. Cloud Fire Department boat searched the river near Munsinger above the dam. At least one police K9 unit searched the east shoreline near Munsinger.
