Fire damaged two homes in West Duluth on Thursday afternoon.
The fire at 101 South 64th Avenue West, near Grand Avenue, was reported at 2:37 p.m. The Duluth Fire Department said no one was home at the time and there were no injuries.
Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the flames, limiting damage to exterior cladding, the soffit, and some limited interior areas. The fire department estimated the monetary cost of the fire to be $20,000 for the structure.
The fire also damaged the exterior of the home next door at 105 South 64th Avenue West. Damages to exterior aluminum cladding and gutters on this residence was estimated at $3,000.
The cause of the fire is stil under investigation.
