Thursday afternoon in Duluth, the Radisson Hotel gave back to local police officers and fire fighters.
The hotel welcomed area departments to come by and grab a boxed lunch to say thank you for keeping them and the community safe.
It's something that one of the hotel's staff brought back from when she lived in Texas. “I was in San Antonio and every year we would have a salute to the firefighters in the downtown area,” said Nancy Kilpo, Duluth Radisson Director of Sales and Marketing. “And I just thought it was such a great idea and came back home and didn't see anything like this being done. So I told our general manager, let's do this and say thank you. Especially this past year, it's been so hard on our officers and our firefighters.”
The Radisson thanked our area heroes as part of National Tourism Week as well.
