The Carlton County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a garage fire in the 3700 block of Hilltop View Road in Barnum Township at 8:38pm on Saturday night.
Carlton County Sheriff’s Deputies responded and learned a vehicle had started on fire while inside of the attached garage. The fire spread to the house. The Barnum Fire Department was assisted by the Blackhoof, Carlton, Mahtowa, and Moose Lake Fire Departments. The fire was contained, but the garage and house were a total loss.
All occuments made it out of the house safely, with no injuries reported. The Essentia Health-Moose Lake Paramedics responded as a precautionary.
The Minnesota Fire Marshal's Office and the Carlton County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the cause of the fire, which is undetermined but not suspicious.
