The Vietnam Veterans of America chapter 913 donated $4,750 to the Branson Fire Department. Nate Jones with the Branson Fire Department said the department plans to use the money to replace three of its automatic electric defibrillators that are reaching their shelf life. "In recent years we've determined that about 10 years is the life we'd like to have for our front line AEDs," said Jones. "So, this donation from the [Vietnam Veterans of America], it helped us to buy these three new AEDs so we could upgrade our equipment to provide, or continue to provide, better customer service to our community." Jones said each fire engine carries one AED and using them can be critical to saving a life.
