The Johnson County Central Dispatch E-911 now handles dispatching services for the Knob Noster Police and Fire departments. The transition took place May 22, 2019. JCCD information states the transition went smoothly, and was anticipated since JCCD began handling the 911 answering services for the citizens of Knob Noster in 2010, making JCCD the primary Public Safety Answering Point for Johnson County. JCCD offers 24 hour, seven days per week call taking and dispatching services for police, fire and medical. There have been no changes in jurisdictional boundaries for police or fire duties. The residents of Knob Noster are continuing to receive the services they have always received. The changes are centered on the dispatch function, and only affects the hours that administrative services will be available at the Knob Noster City Hall.
