Renovation work at the Dent County firehouse could be completed as early as March 1, it was reported at the fire district’s February meeting.
Chief Brad Nash reviewed and discussed with the fire board the renovation progress and what the district would have to complete after the construction crews leave as far as installing, painting and cleanup.
He also asked the board to consider a plan change for the area between the walkway and building on the Center street side to add concrete from the building to the new walkway. The current plan has this area sloped away from the sidewalk on both sides, possibly running water to the building.
The board said would be a good idea but needed pricing. Nash will get pricing for the board to consider the change.
The budget reviewed with a balance at the end of January of $268,708.21.
