A recreational vehicle caught fire Wednesday afternoon in a subdivision north of Bozeman, sending black smoke into the air that could be seen for miles. The Central Valley Fire District responded to a report of a motorhome fire in a neighborhood off Valley Center Road just after 1 p.m. No one was inside the vehicle at the time of the fire. The vehicle was being used as a residence, according to a news release from the district. The release said firefighters quickly knocked down the fire, which engulfed a third of the vehicle. The vehicle was behind another house on Stubbs Lane.
