RPP Fitness is kicking off its hero week by honoring a Great Falls firefighter who lost a two-year long battle with cancer this past winter.
On Saturday, May 25, the gym will host its first Baker Hero ‘Workout of the Day (WOD)’ in Baker’s honor. Firefighters who use RPP Fitness helped create the event.
According to RPP Fitness owner Christian Nichols, they will make the WOD an annual event.
The workout of the day will be: 51 box jumps 24/20, 51 deadlift 225/155, 51 sit-ups, 51 kettlebell swings 2/1.5 pood, and 51 burpees.
The event kicks off at 8 a.m. with 10 athletes per heat.
All of the proceeds from the WOD will directly benefit the Baker family. Nichols said they are already sold-out of t-shirts made specially for the event.
People who are out of town can upload a video or picture of themselves before, during, or after the workout if they want to participate.
On Memorial Day, RPP Fitness will host the Murph Challenge in honor of Lieutenant Michael Murphy, who was killed in Afghanistan in June of 2005.
