VIDEO: Officials at the Flathead 911 Emergency Communications Center are reminding the public of the importance of properly displaying your address at the end of your driveway and on your house.
Emergencies can happen at any time, and when they do, people rely on first responders, who in turn rely on home and businesses owners to help them find the right location.
Fire service area manager Lincoln Chute said all over Flathead County and rural Montana there are houses and driveways that are tricky to find, especially down long dirt roads. He said all it takes is for first responders to turn down the wrong drive, and they waste minutes of precious time.
“But boy, that address at the end of the driveway really makes a difference to speed up emergency services,” said Chute.
