PHOTOS: On Saturday, May 8, Red Lodge Fire Rescue (RLFR) recruits and seasoned members trained on fire ground operations using the state burn trailer. Amy Hyfield, Search and Rescue Officer reported, “Working in hot, smoky environments is not easily replicated and is crucial to being able to fight fire inside structures. We appreciate the trainers for bringing this opportunity to our department. And thanks volunteer firefighters, for spending your morning with us.” If you want to help your community in a real and tangible way, Hyfield said, “We are always in need of volunteers and happy to have people call the station with questions or talk to a current RLFR members.“ In a support role, you do not have to go through the recruitment process. Should you have greater interest and seek the great service and comradery of the recruits, the process takes about a year each.
