A woman was safe on dry land Saturday evening after fire crews had to rescue her when floodwaters trapped her in her vehicle. Family members said a 33-year-old woman was driving home from a dialysis center near Gideon Creek Way and Durham Drive when water started rushing up around her. 3 Video from the scene shows the woman sitting on top of her car while fire officials rescued her with a ladder. Crews set up the ladder on a grassy area, stretched it to the car and were able to get her home safely. “He said she’s doing OK. I’ve never seen anything like that,” said the woman’s mother-in-law, Pam Varney. 1 Employees who work at the nearby Salvation Army said the spot is known for flooding when there is a lot of rain.
