Maysville Fire & EMS opened its doors to a special guest Monday.
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner and State Fire Marshal Mike Causey stopped in Maysville Monday afternoon as one of many stops in Eastern North Carolina.
According to Linzy Cook, public affairs officer for Causey’s office, the Insurance Commission awarded more than $54,000 in grants Monday. Of those, Maysville Fire & EMS received $30,000.
Maysville Fire & EMS Chief Mike Jordan said the money will be used to update equipment for the fire station, including pagers used by Maysville, Belgrade and Loco volunteer fire departments.
