A third person has been charged in connection with the death of a Winston-Salem man. Victor Navarro-Rojas, 22, was arrested Monday in Louisville, Ky., along with Carson Glenn Simmons, the Davidson County Sheriff's Office said. Simmons was wanted in the homicide of Dennis James Vernon, 56, who was found dead Oct. 27 in a mobile home at 353 Normans Lane, which is in Davidson County but has a Winston-Salem address. Officials were called to the address because the home was on fire and found Vernon dead inside. An autopsy revealed he died from an assault, the sheriff's office said. Simmons, 20, was charged with first-degree murder, first-degree arson and robbery with a dangerous weapon. Navarro-Rojas, of 4303 Newport Road in Louisville, Ky., is charged with accessory after the fact to first-degree murder.
