Cindy and Richie Millis were high school sweethearts who have been married for more than 20 years. From high school to marriage to the birth of their three children, they have made many happy memories together. “He is the one that is standing strong now when I fall apart,” Cindy said, describing Richie. The family of five lost everything they’ve worked their entire lives for on the morning of Nov. 23, Black Friday. “I work in retail. My daughter Hannah called me and said there was smoke going all through the house and it was coming from the heater,” Cindy said. Cindy rushed home to find the home she and her family have lived in for 18 years up in flames. “It didn’t take long, a couple of minutes, and the whole house was gone,” Richie said.
