For the second consecutive year, the Hawtree Volunteer Fire Department dominated field events and took top honors at the conclusion of Saturday’s annual Firemen’s Day competition.
Following a morning of fire apparatus being judged, a procession made its way down Warrenton’s Main Street in a parade filled with sirens and the county’s volunteer firefighters.
The afternoon’s field events took place at the Warrenton Lions Club site off of Ridgeway Street and ended with the ever-popular Tug of War. Joey Andrews, president of the Warren County Firemen’s Association and chief of the Afton-Elberon Volunteer Fire Department, announced winners in both the apparatus and field event categories.
