The Iredell County Fire Marshal’s Office has not issued a cause for a fire that left a Mooresville home uninhabitable, officials said Tuesday. On Monday afternoon, firefighters with Shepherds, Mooresville, South Iredell, Lake Norman, Wayside and Troutman fire departments responded to a fire on Savannah Crossing Drive. Iredell County Fire Marshal David Souther said the case could be revisited if new information comes to light. He also said the home was inaccessible to investigators due to its condition following the fire. Shepherds Fire Chief Kelly Robinson said the call came in around 3:40 p.m. The house, in the 100 block of Savannah Crossing Drive, suffered fire damage in the garage area and the floors immediately above the garage. Robinson said the fire started in the garage and made its way into the second story of the house, eventually spreading into the attic.
