Today law enforcement, firefighters and members of the community gathered to welcome a special group of young people to Kinston. The group gathered to welcome teenagers from around the state who are burn victims taking part in the North Carolina Jaycee's Burn Center After Care Program. They arrived shortly after noon Friday and they were greeted by people cheering and the flashing lights of police cars and fire trucks. The young people are traveling to Camp Don Lee, which is a sailing adventure camp in Arapahoe. Organizers said Kinston was a good halfway point on their travel and the Kinston community was glad to show their support. The teens say that support means a lot to them especially coming from people who don't even know them or their situation.
