One Greenville resident was displaced from their home Thursday night after a fire caused significant damage to a duplex. Greenville Fire and police both responded to the scene of the fire at the 200 block of Eastern Street. There was fire damage on one side of the duplex, while the other side had smoke damage. When officials arrived all of the people were out of both units, but firefighters did have to rescue a dog from the unit with smoke damage. The resident on the side with fire damage has been displaced from the home and Red Cross is now assisting. There were no injuries reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
