Two arrests have been made in connection to a burned body found in New Bern late Monday night, according to Craven County Sheriff Chip Hughes.
Hughes said deputies arrested 21-year-old Peter Schocker Tuesday night and charged him with accessory after the fact of first-degree murder.
Via video, Schocker made his first court appearance Wednesday afternoon.
The second suspect, identified as 23-year-old Norris D. Rochelle Jr., was picked up in Forsyth County and charged with murder.
Sheriff Chip Hughes said the murder happened in Rural Hall, which is located in Forsyth County about 10 miles north of Winston-Salem.
Officials in Forsyth County said they were investigating a case of a missing person identified as Nicholas Williams, 40, of Rural Hall.
