Winston-Salem firefighters responded to a house fire at 745 E. Brookline St. Sunday morning. Battalion Chief Robert Wade said that the call came in at 5:13 a.m. "The house was totally involved in flames. It was vacant and no one was injured or displaced," he said. Wade said that equipment had to be brought in to knock part of the remnants of the house down to prevent a falling hazard. Firefighters left the scene about noon. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
