VIDEO: The eastern North Carolina community is remembering Atlantic Beach Fire Chief Adam Snyder. A life-long public servant. His final act of service was donating his organs. Currently, there are plenty of individuals on the wait list for organ donations. According to the American Transplant Association, on average 20 people die every day due to lack of available organs for transfer. One donor can save the lives of up to 75 people. "A lot of people don't think about tissue," said Latoya Joyner, member of Carolina Donor Services. When we are thinking about tissue, we're not just thinking about skin, but we are also thinking about bones, heart valves, tendons, vein, cartilage, those sort of things."
