Crews battled a two-alarm fire at a two-story home in Mooresville Monday afternoon. According to the Town of Mooresville, the incident happened on South Main Street at 4:25 p.m. Fire units arrived on scene to find a two-story home with heavy smoke coming from the second story. The incident was then upgraded to a second alarm. Crews made an interior fire attack on the home. Due to heavy fire conditions in the attic and second floor, a defensive order was given to evacuate the home. Crews extinguished the fire with aerial devices and the fire was controlled around 5 p.m. No injuries were reported, but the home appeared to have suffered serious damage. The fire is under investigation by Mooresville Fire-Rescue’s Fire Marshal’s Office.
