A Pasquotank County man was ordered to undergo an evaluation at a state psychiatric hospital after the sheriff's office said he attempted to set a neighbor's house on fire. William Jacob Kneisly, 36, of the 200 block of Gaston Drive, is also facing first-degree attempted arson charges, according to a Pasquotank Sheriff's arrest report. Sheriff Tommy Wooten said Kneisly was arrested after he attempted to set a neighbor's house on fire Nov. 7. "Last Wednesday, for reasons unknown, he threw a vase through a window and poured what appeared to be gasoline on the home and attempted to light it," Wooten said when interviewed about the incident last week. The fire, which was extinguished before firefighters arrived, caused only minor damage to the vinyl siding on one side of the house, Wooten said.
