A local church comes together to celebrate first responders and those who give their all to keep their communities safe in connection with their 9/11 terror attack services. On Sunday, members of the Trinity Baptist Church in Asheville held its annual 9/11 service to honor police officers, firefighters and many other emergency workers. Church members say it’s a service that has grown over the years from honoring those locally to remembering those who died during the 9/11 terrorist attack. “I come every year. I took that very important as a native New Yorker and as a police officer that has very close friends in EMS and fire. it's something I think about a lot,” said Capt. Joseph Silberman with the Asheville Police Department This marked the 24th year of the 9/11 service at Trinity Baptist.
