A Goldsboro woman was hospitalized Wednesday with severe burns that, police said, came from someone intentionally setting her on fire during a domestic dispute. Police were called to a home on Hickory Street around 11:30 p.m. and found Latonya McCoy, 39. She was taken to Wayne UNC Health and then transferred to the North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center where she was in critical condition Thursday. On Thursday, Goldsboro police arrested and charged Karla Ann Davis of Goldsboro with attempted first-degree murder. She was taken into custody in the 500 block of Hickory Street by investigators, received no bond by a magistrate and was placed in the Wayne County Detention Center. Her first court appearance is Friday.
