South Carolina firefighters respond to massive Ocean Isle Beach fire that injured 1, rescue crews say

VIDEO: South Carolina firefighters helped crews in North Carolina early Thursday morning when several structures went up in flames. According to the Horry County Fire Rescue Facebook page, fire rescue crews were called for mutual aid around 1:13 a.m. They were called to Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina, in the area of Concord Street. WECT reports two homes were destroyed, and one person was seriously injured, according to Mayor Debbie Smith. That victim was airlifted to Chapel Hill for treatment. According to WECT, the cause of the fire is believed to be a flooded out car that ignited. Photos from Horry County Fire Rescue show widespread damage and large flames. Officials with Horry County Fire Rescue say they returned to South Carolina around 6 a.m.
