A Lake Norman home was destroyed by an early morning fire this week, fire officials said.
Troutman Fire Chief Wesley Morris said firefighters went to a home in the 100 block of Ridgecliff Drive after 12 a.m. Wednesday. He said the home was fully involved once the crews arrived and they began a defensive attack.
Iredell County Fire Marshal David Souther said he believes the fire had been burning for some time prior to the arrival of firefighters. “By the time of the fire was discovered, the rear of the home (was) already collapsing,” he said Thursday afternoon.
Morris said fire departments from West Iredell, Catawba and Monticello – along with a fire boat from Denver – assisted in fighting the blaze. He said no one was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.
