Firefighters responded to the scene of a two-alarm fire in University City Sunday night, officials said. Firefighters are working to put the fire out at the Hampton Inn on North Tryon near Harris Boulevard. The fire started around 10 p.m. A Channel 9 crew was at the scene and said no visible flames could be seen, but there was a large presence from fire officials. Officials have not said if anyone was hurt in the fire or how it started. No other details have been released.
