The funeral has been scheduled for an eastern North Carolina firefighter killed in a collision late last week. NC State Highway Patrol Trooper David Lucido said they responded to an accident on Old Highway 64 near Strawberry Lane shortly after 6:00 Friday morning and determined the driver crossed the center lane, ran off the road, hit a railroad track and then a guardrail. The chief of the Jamesville Community Volunteer Fire Department said Clavon “CJ” Blount 19, of Dardens was killed in the crash. A visitation will be held at Paradise Funeral Home Wednesday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. And a celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Promise Land Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the family cemetery.
