New technology benefiting Martin County first responders is now available thanks to $79,842.84 Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) funding.
The Mobile Data Terminals have connections to the Computer Aided Dispatch system in the 911 Center, allowing first responders to see information from the caller, patient data, cautionary information and more. This means there will be a "seamless line of information-sharing" from the 911 caller to first responders. Recently, officials say around 50 responders from all fire and EMS departments in the county were trained on the tablets and software program.
“As emergency response becomes more technology and data driven, these types of investments in technology will help to ensure that we are providing the best service possible to our citizens,” said Jason Steward, Martin County 911 Communications Manager.
