A woman is dead following a fire Thursday morning in a Statesville mobile home. Wayside Volunteer Fire Department responded to a mobile home on South Greenbriar Road just after 10 a.m. July 15. Iredell Fire Marshal said the fire started in the living room and the woman was found in the bathroom. Her name has not yet been released. The cause of the fire remains undetermined. Wayside is the leading agency, and several other fire departments assisted in extinguishing the blaze. Estimated costs of damage have not yet been determined.
