PHOTOS: A family was displaced after a home caught fire in northwest Charlotte Saturday afternoon, officials said. Firefighters responded to blaze around 12:30 p.m. on Winchester Street near Sinclair Street. Officials said three adults and six children were displaced. Firefighters also rescued a family puppy. Firefighters controlled the fire within 10 minutes. No injuries were reported. Officials have not said how the fire started, but said it was accidental and started in a bedroom closed. The fire caused around $45,000 in damage to the home. Charlotte Fire said the Red Cross is helping the family members that were displaced.
