Money is being raised to help cover medical expenses of a Wilkes County Emergency Services emergency medical technician (EMT) who is recovering from a June 5 motorcycle accident on N.C. 268 in Caldwell County, about three miles from the Wilkes line.
Crystal Wagoner, also a firefighter and first responder in the Goshen Fire Department, was riding on a motorcycle operated by her husband, Harvey Wagoner, when the motorcycle went out of control and wrecked due to hitting something in the road or a foot peg making contact with pavement.
She suffered multiple crushed and broken bones in her left leg and underwent extensive surgery before being released from a hospital on June 9. Wagoner said she was told she’ll be out of work for three to six months.
