PHOTOS: Firefighters with the the Huntersville Fire Department were able to battle flames in a “live fire” training exercise on Saturday, thanks to donated structure set for demolition.
Fire officials say this training opportunity allowed firefighters to operate in live fire conditions as they practiced fire attack methods, hoseline advancement, ventilation, and more.
Fire crews took turns putting out fires within the structure, a former single-family home slated for demolition on Sam Furr Road, while practicing their firefighting skills.
Officials say following the training burns, the whole house was burned down to its foundation in a controlled manner for the ease of clean-up by construction crews.
