Winston-Salem firefighters rescue pets from burning home

VIDEOS: Firefighters rescued multiple pets from a house fire on the 500-block of Beth Avenue late Friday night. According to the Winston-Salem Fire Department, firefighters were called to the residence at 11:22 p.m. Upon their arrival, crews found smoke pouring out of the front porch of the home. While no people were injured, crews did evacuate two dogs and and one cat. One of the dogs died, said officials. Video posted by the fire department to social media showed firefighters rescuing the pets, and placing a mask on at least one dog. Officials said that this was an electrical fire and started in the kitchen of the home. Smoke alarms were present but were not working at the time of the incident.
