A local fire department is mourning the sudden loss of one of its members. The Raleigh Professional Firefighters Association posted to Facebook late Tuesday saying Michael Jackson of Ladder 20 died unexpectedly. They did not say how Jackson passed away but are asking for thoughts and prayers to his family. The reason for Jackson's death was not provided, but at least two area firefighters have died of COVID-19 in the last month, including a Huntersville firefighter and his wife and 45-year-old Jeremy Klemm from the Durham Fire Department.
