A house in Concord suffered extensive damage after a fire on Monday afternoon, the Concord Fire Department said. Firefighters responded to the 500 block of Faith Drive around 2:30 p.m. to a home with smoke and flames showing, according to a release from the department. Twenty-six firefighters needed 20 minutes to knock down the fire, CFD said. The process included firefighters cutting a hole in the roof of the home to prevent the blaze from spreading. Officials said none of the four residents were home at the time of the fire and no one was injured. Smoke damage was visible throughout the home, while fire damage was contained to the rear of the house, CFD said. Damage was estimated at $18,000. The Red Cross was called to assist the four adults displaced by the fire.
